Christine Kinal was named CEO of Haven of Oakland County, according to a press release from the Pontiac-based nonprofit.
Haven provides shelter, counseling and other services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Kinal has more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement and most recently served as the principal owner of CK Industries Inc. of Troy.
“We look forward to working with Christine as she takes on this leadership position at Haven,” Kristin Christ, Haven board president, said in the press release. “After an extensive national search, Christine was unanimously chosen as the next CEO of Haven. In addition, the board of directors is grateful to Haven’s Program Director Emily Matuszak for stepping in as Interim CEO for the past several months.”
Kinal has worked in several volunteer crisis support roles and has referred survivors to Haven in both her volunteer roles and her position in law enforcement.
“I am very grateful to continue serving the community with Haven. During my career in law enforcement, victim advocacy was always the priority, and Haven was instrumental in assisting with that,” said Kinal.
