Christine Kinal Named CEO of HAVEN of Oakland County

HAVEN of Oakland County, the domestic and sexual abuse survivors nonprofit organization based in Pontiac, has announced the appointment of Christine Kinal as CEO.

Kinal brings more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement, operational oversite, strategic planning, and crisis support. Most recently, Kinal was the principal owner of CK Industries, where she managed operations.

“We look forward to working with Christine as she takes on this leadership position at HAVEN,” says Kristin Christ, HAVEN board president. “After an extensive national search, Christine was unanimously chosen as the next CEO of HAVEN. In addition, the board of directors is grateful to HAVEN’s program director Emily Matuszak for stepping in as interim CEO for the past several months.”

Kinal has worked in several volunteer crisis support roles and has referred survivors to HAVEN in both her volunteer roles and her position in law enforcement.

“I am very grateful to continue serving the community with HAVEN. During my career in Law Enforcement, victim advocacy was always the priority, and HAVEN was instrumental in assisting with that,” says Kinal.

“Now, to be on the HAVEN team has a deep purpose which I consider a privilege. As a servant leader, I look forward to beginning this journey giving priority to the needs of all employees, board members, and those they serve, because without them, HAVEN wouldn’t be where it is today.”

HAVEN is Oakland County provides shelter, counseling, advocacy, and educational programming for more than 30,000 survivors and their families annually.
